Asmongold is one of the best-known names in gaming streams, and his chat is where a lot of his fans first met. Here's a short guide to the streamer behind the merch, for new fans and old ones.

Who is Asmongold?

Asmongold is the online name of Zack Hoyt, an American streamer and YouTuber. He streams on Twitch, and his YouTube channel, Asmongold TV, is where fans catch up on what they missed.

How did he get started?

A friend introduced him to World of Warcraft in 2006, and he started out as a World of Warcraft streamer. When World of Warcraft Classic came out in 2019, his popularity took off, and by 2021 he was one of the largest streamers on Twitch.

What does he play?

  • World of Warcraft: the game that put him on the map.
  • Final Fantasy XIV: he played it for the first time on stream in July 2021, in front of a huge live audience.
  • Lost Ark, Elden Ring and more: MMORPGs and big new releases are his home ground.

What is OTK?

In 2020 Asmongold co-founded One True King, better known as OTK, a group of content creators that includes streamers such as Mizkif and Esfand. One of our designs carries the OTK flame-and-crown logo.

Has he won any awards?

Yes. He was named Best MMORPG Streamer at The Streamer Awards twice, for 2021 and for 2022.
